Questions and Answers
Do I need a prescription?
- A prescription is needed for all new clients who plan to file for insurance reimbursement. A prescription is not needed for performance and nutritional consultations, or for conditioning sessions.
What are the fees?
- A prescription is needed for all new clients who plan to file for insurance reimbursement. A prescription is not needed for performance and nutritional consultations, or for conditioning sessions.
- Fees are to be paid at the time of service, unless previous arrangements have been made.
- Fees are payable by cash, checks made out to Total Body Development, or VISA/Mastercard. Health spending account cards are also accepted with a VISA emblem on the card. Credit card payments are subject to an additional processing fee. American Express is not accepted.
- All initial sessions are $140, and 1-hour follow-up sessions are $120 per hour.
- Ongoing regular time slot reservations or delayed payment arrangements may require additional fees.
- Written reports requested to be written outside of session times cost $100 per page.
- File copying and/or mailing is $25 per request. Multiple requests are additive in fees.
- Outside supplies ordered by Total Body Development may require a mark-up fee.
Do you take insurance?
- Total Body Development does not file for insurance; payments are required at the time of service. However, a coded receipt, showing appropriate ICD-9 and CPT codes along with other information necessary for reimbursement, can be provided upon request.
How hard is it to get reimbursement for services?
- Some PPO policies will reimburse for services by a licensed physical therapist, according to the terms of the vendor’s contract with the client. Please check your policy or ask your provider. Physical therapy services are readily reimbursed for Flexible Spending Accounts, as dictated by the client’s contributions. HMOs contract with a specific group of providers; Total Body Development is not on these lists. Total Body Development is not contracted with Kaiser. Kaiser is an HMO with its own in-house physical therapy services.
How long are the sessions?
- Initial sessions are 1.5 hour. Follow-up sessions are 1 hour, unless otherwise requested.
What is the cancellation policy?
- A 48- hour cancellation notice is required of all clients; otherwise the full session fee will be accrued.
What are the general hours of operation?
- Monday 2pm–6pm
- Tuesday 8am–7pm
- Wednesday 8am–11am; 2pm–7pm
- Thursday 8am–7pm
- Friday 2pm–7pm

What happens if I make repeated cancellations?
- Repeated cancellations may indicate a need to discharge care from this service.
Do you make home visits?
- Home visits are discouraged. However, in rare instances, home visits can be arranged but will require an additional fee.
What do I wear to an initial session?
- You should wear underwear and be ready to be examined in your underwear for an effective biomechanical evaluation.
What do I wear for follow-up sessions?
- Wear loose, comfortable clothing in which you can exercise.
How are you different than a gym trainer?
- This clinic specializes in in-depth specialized care. Attention is paid to the details and interactions of the client’s particular body type and physical limitations, while dovetailing elements of internal physical issues. All services are performed by a licensed professional in movement and health.

Each user is responsible for implementing sufficient procedures and checkpoints to satisfy his or her particular requirements for accuracy of data input and output, and for maintaining a means external to the Site for the reconstruction of any lost data. How We Use Your Info
